Trying to remove the factory NB2 headunit from my car so I can install a new aftermarket unit. These din tools and clips are frustrating the heck out of me. End rant.

Weird. It was simple on my NA. I didn’t need any removal tools. The hardest part was r emoving the clips on the back.

This shouldn’t be that hard the cry of almost every car repair.

I’ve said it before, and regretted it

It’s a PITA. I took out both seats, wedged in screwdrivers from behind, and forced it out that way. Also, make sure you pull the Bose-specific amps, wiring and speakers if you’re going for a full Bose-ectomy!

Good, you are giving me motivation to not try and pull the head unit from my miata. Although it is an aftermarket one so maybe it’s easier to remove? It’s aftermarket circa like 2007 though so it’s absolutely trash and has no blue tooth. I've been thinking about putting in the same alpine unit I have in the Subaru. Might be weird to have the same radio in multiple cars but at least it means I don't have to relearn some other unit.

Please don’t tell me I have to pull all the stereo wiring out
I did however manage to get the booger of a radio out. Seems the clips yi nged when I needed them to yang. In other news if anyone wants NB2 Bose equipment lemme know (including power antenna).

Yeah, you typically have to because the wiring, speakers, tweeters, and amps are Bose-specific.
